Stewardship
Care for the crop and the people around it.
Good crop protection includes buying, handling, storing and disposing of products correctly. Follow the registered label and use these reminders alongside the product’s specific safety instructions.
Six habits for responsible use
- 01
Buy from a licensed dealer
Choose sealed packs with a batch number and registration number on the label.
- 02
Read the label before use
Check the crop, rate, water volume and pre-harvest interval. Follow the directions for that product.
- 03
Wear the protection the label specifies
Check the required gloves, eye protection, clothing and respiratory protection before handling the product.
- 04
Check conditions before spraying
Follow the label’s directions to protect nearby crops, water, bees and other wildlife.
- 05
Store securely
Keep products in their original closed packs, in a locked store under the conditions the label specifies, away from children, food and feed.
- 06
Follow the disposal instructions
Use the directions for that product and packaging. Never reuse an empty pesticide container.
Check the field before choosing a spray.
Monitor the crop, use resistant varieties and good growing practices, and apply crop protection only when the pest level justifies it. Rotate modes of action to help slow resistance.
